Opposition Slams Naidu for Seeking to Build 'Corporate Capital'

HYDERABAD: A day after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu unveiled the blue print of the new capital city, opposition parties on Tuesday blasted him for seeking to construct a gigantic city on fertile lands.

YSRC senior leader MV Mysoora Reddy described the plan submitted by Singapore agencies as “very pale” and said there was no need for experts from Singapore to design it.

YSRC spokesperson Vasireddy Padma too alleged the master plan was bereft of ‘nativity’ and termed it a ‘sell-out’ of Telugu pride. She alleged that the entire exercise was intended only to further the business interests of the Chief Minister and his family members.

APCC former president Botcha Satyanarayana also alleged that Naidu was allowing corporate companies of Singapore to loot the State. “Is there any need to ask the Singapore government to prepare the master plan for the capital city? All this is being done to pursue a hidden agenda. Naidu and family have business interests in Singapore. Hence, he is allowing that country’s corporate houses to have a stake in the capital city,” he alleged.

CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna also said the new capital would not be a “people’s capital” but a “corporate” capital and all the resources would be utilised by big corporate houses.
